What is The Soul of Jazz? 

It is the result of Tiza B.’s desire to create her own personal interpretations of, what have come to be, jazz classics.

It is the combination of jazz standards and soul grooves arranged to complement Tiza's deeply soulful voice.

It is the sound produced by four musicians from four different countries from four different musical backgrounds each putting their own soul into these extraordinary songs.

Naming a particular musical style is always difficult to do. But I think you’ll agree that the title “The Soul of Jazz” puts in a nutshell, what is, quite literally, the sound of the soul of jazz.

Chris Bovet (CH, Guitar)

Born in 1964 and raised in Neuchâtel, Switzerland
Chris is a composer/guitarist/producer and has long time being a musical partner of Tiza B.
Some of Chris’ musical endeavors are to be discovered on various international Dance compilations (Hotel Costes, Fashion TV,
Ministry of House...) and also on various movie soundtracks, including Adrian Lyne’s “Unfaithful” with Richard Gere.

Mimmo Pisino (I, Bass)

Mimmo Pisino was born October 30th 1965 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
He has performed and recorded since the age of 18 with various artists all over Europe exploring different techniques and refining his unique Fat 'n' Groovy approach . Mimmo has worked together with Tiza since 1989.
Credits among others : George Clinton, Polo Hofer, Dodo Hug, Juan Mungia (Irakere), Juke etc ...


Steve Grant (GB, Drums)

Born in 1966 and raised in Liverpool, England.
Steve Grant is self-taught and was playing professionally at the age of 15.
His initial influences were almost exclusively African-American music.
Throughout his career he has had the opportunity to play in many styles with many different artists.
 From Soul with “Ben E. King - The Drifters” to Swinging-Blues with “Juke”. From Blues/Rock with “Chris Farlow - Colosseum” to Jazz with the “Daniel Küffer Quartet”. From Funk with "Stereodogs" to Rhythm and Blues with "Screamin' Jay Hawkins" mentioning but a few.
